I've found some third-party ones on eBay and Amazon, and they seem fine (though please inform me if they are finnicky or anything), but I've also looked for an original AGS 101
I think the new ITA screens are the way to go. They are brighter/more vibrant and have less ghosting than AGS-101 screens, but are authentic Nintendo screens that retain the same pixel grid look of the 101 screen. I am very happy with mine and its a very big improvement over the AGS-001 and even the 101.

Either way, no, you can't use a DS Lite screen as replacement for a GBA. Or at least I don't know how. The potentiometer thing, you should try it before you attempt something with your console, although there's repro screens being sold in AliExpress and other sites, but on my opinion a complete broken DS Lite is better than a AGS-101 SP. 1BnkhuX.
