The extended edition takes that celebrated theatrical release and adds in a full 50 more minutes of footage, most of which was removed due to time constraints, or narrative reasons. The amount of The extended versions expect that you as a viewer are already fully bought into this world and it's inhabitants, and reward that prior investment with more content, if you arent, they will seem to meander and drag and stay well past their welcome. The Fellowship of the Ring The Two Towers Fellowship UHD - it's bad in so many ways. 4K is fake - it's the same old 1080p Extended edition transfer, upscaled digitally. 4K LOTR still exists only on original film negatives (and theatrical film prints, probably), which were never scanned in 4K for home releases. All home releases of LOTR suffer from DNR, but UHD is the worst offender.
