Ford Mondeo Mk3 2.0 TDCi 130, Ford Duratorq 2.0 L (1,998 cc) engine. Released in 2000, to coincide with the launch of the Mk3 Ford Mondeo, the Duratorq ZSD-420 was initially available as a 2.0 L (1,998 cc) direct injection turbodiesel. Producing 115 PS (85 kW; 113 hp) and 280 Nâ‹…m (207 lbâ‹…ft) it was a vast improvement over the 1.8 Endura-D I have a 2007 2Ltr TDCI Ford Focus Diesel. From new it intermittently goes into limp mode and shows on the dash "Engine System Failure" with a red light showing and "ESP System Fault" with an orange light showing. This seems to happen when I accelerate heavier than normal. When the red light goes off the power resumes.
I have got now several times same issue that Focus 2006 1.8TDCi informs me about Engine System Fault and then Acceleration reduced. 1.8 TDCI Mk2 Focus Ford Year
Sounds like an immobiliser fault, likely to be caused by bad soldering in the dash cluster (speedo clocks), fairly common issue on the Mk2 although less frequent on the Mk2.5. If you have a Windows laptop I'd recommend Forscan over any generic OBD scanner.
Posted June 24, 2013. the flashing light can indicate an issue with the charging system the truth is diagnostics will have to be done really it can be glow plugs faulty wiring injector faults etc. Quote.
It puts the Engine systems light on (the one with an ! in a cog) also on my car. 1.8 TDCI Mk2 Focus Ford Year: 2006 UK/Ireland Location: 2012 Galaxy Titanium
Ford Focus: I have Mk2 Focus 2.0 tdci engine systems fault… I have Mk2 Focus 2.0 I have Mk2 Focus 2.0 tdci the engine systems fault warning message came on after filling with fuel.MIL lamp not illuminated and engine not in limp mode.Suspect DPF fluid. Will I need full diagnostic?
Cant comment on the engine systems fault as that usually shows a code to go with it but it's also worth just checking the fuel filter. Drain it if it has a drain to check for water. Renew it if your brave as there is no bleed mechanism on this engine and you need to draw the fuel up from the tank after changing it.
Ford Focus Club "engine System Fault" as the title says "Engine system fault". My Focus 1.8 Tdci has started to display this Ford Focus MK2 weird gauges when
