I'm curious to see everyones thought on the best way to break in a motor. I'm leaning towards letting it get good and warmed up and run it hard to let the rings expand and set in well.
Not a real common problem, in other words. But if you want an oil pressure gauge, you'd have to T one in, to the oil pressure switch: It's hiding in the base of the V on the passenger side of the motor, you'll have to remove that little plastic cover to access it. Previous bikes: '15 Outlander XMR650. MudNwheels 1000XMR diff.

From your comment about "do you need to change the oil filter too" is scaring me, you might want to take it to the dealer. If you do decide to do it yourself, you will need 2.2 quarts of 5w40 SYNTHETIC. You can buy a oil change kit at the dealer for $50 or go to an auto parts store for the oil and buy 3 filters in a pack on ebay for usually $15
