E39: Heated seat issues - please help. I have been working on a 2003 BMW 530i for an issue with just the driver side heated seat not working. - (Fuse 32 & 45 are good, Seat switch stays lit & passenger seats works fine). So far during my troubleshooting I have replaced the upper (backrest) and lower (butt part) heat elements with stock OEM BMW
Heated seats in & working - and very nice they are too. One thing regarding coding of these. They didn't work with simply adding $494 to the VO of the car, I needed to change one of the 'sitzheizung' parameters in the JBBF module to 'aktiv' instead of 'nicht_ackiv'. That did the trick & now they work perfectly.
Hey there - just replaced my number 32 fuse due to the heated seats failing like yours. I turned the car off and left the key in ignition. After replacing the fuse, the seats worked fine but the car would not start. Engine would turn but then die and drained the battery.

When I press the seat heater button on the center console, the green light comes one for about a second and then turns off again. The passenger seat heater is fine.
The seat is heated up to 35 °C. The seat heating is switched off by pressing the button once again or switching off the ignition. The seat heating can also be switched off in any heating stage by pressing the push button for longer than 1 second. The seats are heated by means of carbon fibre heating mats in the main section and steel wires
have: '09 E90 premium, non-sport, non-heated seats buying: sport seats off an '09 with premium and heat. 1. expecting/hoping everything on the seats will work except obviously the heat 2. since the new seats will have all heat-related components what would be required to retrofit the switches and related wiring to get the heat working? Thanks
Seat heater problem I removed and reinstalled fuses 48 and 49 looking for a way to disable the headlight washer. Now, since I reinstalled the fuses, when I turn on my heated seat, it only stays on for a few seconds and then goes off.
