Condi weaver is definitely one of the most fun builds imo and with a very considerable dps output once you learn how to perform on it. So since you are getting back on elementalist you should give it a shot, since i started using it, and with my general involvement in endgame content i can say i became a much better player in every sense.
But it seems like the combat there requires precise timing of buttons. GW2 combat is more about reacting to mechanics while trying to stick to a rotation. For example, dodging, compensating for accidental slip-ups and such. If I had to compare, the difference seems to be like recording in a studio vs performing in a live show.
